A pair of pictures inspired by Phee from Giantitp, who is both amazing and the best Tiara-Wearing Story-Teller ever. ^_^
I have been wanting to draw inorganic magical creatures like Phoenix for a while, and I thought it might be fun to not only draw a tribute to a friend, but to try to draw the same creature in different ways.
The first picture was made in the stylised manner that I usually draw flames in, which I think turned out quite nicely. It was also a lot easier to mimic the features of an actual bird (the Grey Heron, Ardea cinerea in this case. :3) in this style, which is always a plus. ^_^
The second picture is an attempt at making it look more realistic and painted, which I have scarcely attempted to do with fire before. Quite happy with how it turned out, but I expect much change to come as I get better at it.
As always, do kindle my fire with comments and criticism, or cuddle the birds! ^_^
